Local man wins top award

Jackson of New Grange was last week awarded the prestigious Packard Prize
for most promising young classical musician.
Mr Jackson, 20, started playing violin at the age of 4, and went on to study at the famous DeLisle Conservatory where he is in his final year.
Said Mr Jackson " I never believed I'd get through to the finals, let alone win!"
Mr Jackson receives prize money of $6,000 and a chance to play with the New York Philharmonic later this year.
New Health Center over budget
The central health center, once estimated to cost $4 million, now looks set to exceed this figure by at least another £1 million. A spokesman blamed the increase on unforeseen rises in labor and materials costs. More
